Rescued as a puppy from the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina six years ago, a dog named Yogi found his forever home just yesterday.

The Longmont Humane Society said Yogi, an American Bulldog mix, went home on Wednesday after a very long wait. He is believed to be that last Katrina refugee to find a new family.

  1. *sniff* He’s waited away his young life. Hopefully his older years will be filled with love and plenty of time with people who treat him like a family member!!

  2. So happy for Yogi but this is gut wrenching knowing he has never known a home of his own…hurts the heart.

  3. Although I’m glad he found a home, it’s sort of strange that not one person at the shelter would’ve decided ‘enough’s enough’ and adopted him far earlier than now.
