The newest full time employee at the Smith County District Attorney’s Office is Macy. She specializes in working with abused children as they work their way through the legal process.
The Golden Retriever/Lab mix received some $50,000 worth of training from an organization called the Canine Companions for Independence prior to being hired. Her first day on the job was last Tuesday, when she worked a full, eight hour day at the side of an abused child.
Dogs can work wonders with children. We bet Macy brought a lot of comfort to those poor children.

My dog got me through my childhood. I think it’s a wonderful thing. Just hope the kids don’t get too attached. Just another thing for them to lose.
My dogs have been there for me, when others haven’t. I honestly feel if it wasn’t for them, I might not be here. This is very cool congrats to Macy
These dogs help kids by accompanying them to court as a friend. Fabulous <3
Love and hugs to Macy<3<3<3
