Recently, a litter of lion cubs were born at the Nama Zoo, which is located north of the Gaza Strip. After two of the cubs fell ill and passed away, the surviving cub was left on his own, and was rejected by the mother lion. Never fear though! A mother dog has stepped in to raise the cub.
The dog had just had a litter of pups herself. Staff at the zoo presented the cub to the mother dog, and she took him into her family. The dog is allowing the cub to nurse, and staff at the zoo hope this will help form a lasting bond between the dog and the lion cub.
