Recently, a litter of lion cubs were born at the Nama Zoo, which is located north of the Gaza Strip. Â After two of the cubs fell ill and passed away, the surviving cub was left on his own, and was rejected by the mother lion. Â Never fear though! Â A mother dog has stepped in to raise the cub.
The dog had just had a litter of pups herself. Â Staff at the zoo presented the cub to the mother dog, and she took him into her family. Â The dog is allowing the cub to nurse, and staff at the zoo hope this will help form a lasting bond between the dog and the lion cub.
