DAWG, a non-profit rescue organization, speaks with the American Strays Project about the dead dogs that have been found at River Rouge Park in Detroit. Film teams then follow rescuers as they find a terrified, live dog and save him from possibly being the next victim.

    • Dave, all types of people are out there abusing animals! White, black, hispanic, asian etc. No group of people are exempt! We should work together to end animal abuse world wide!

      • That is true but the fact is that some cultures are just less appreciative of what pets have to offer or less empathetic to them. I rarely see blacks or Hispanics or Asians in ANY animal rescue efforts – it is almost completely whites. That is not a racist comment it is a simple fact. Look at Indian reservations and their stray problems. Look at the Caribbean with majorly black populations with their stray and animal abuse problems. Look at Mexico’s stray problems and hispanics in the US and look who is mostly involved in dog fighting – hispanics, indians and blacks. Whites are abusers too, but whites also contribute to the solution the most. Dave’s comment might be too forward in this PC society but it is probably not too far from the truth.

  1. My heart goes out to all those innocents dogs who lost their life. One wonders who the term “animal” should apply to. God Bless those people who care enough to make a difference in the lives of these innocent creatures.

  2. I don’t know why this is suddenly news this year. There are plenty of stray, dying and dead dogs found in Rouge park every single year. It’s been a dumping spot for unwanted animals for as long as I can remember. Heartbreaking.
