  1. Oh for goodness sake, don’t promote giving live animals as gifts! That’s how we end up with so many animals in shelters and what keeps puppy mills in business. People need to make an informed choice about their desire to have a pet, do some research, deal with a reputable breeder and decide if you can afford the care of the animal. Impulsive Christmas stocking puppies are the ones who end up dying alone and afraid.

  2. it should be against the law to buy /sell puppies around Xmas time. Responsible dealers and breeders would know better.

  3. This only works if the giver is 100% committed to taking care of the puppy if the recipient won’t or can’t do it, meaning it’s mom or dad giving and expecting to do all the work. Otherwise I agree with others. DON’T promote giving live animals at Christmas. Many of them will end up in a shelter or worse.

  4. Animal rescue groups spend so much time and energy this time of year trying to educate people not to buy pets as gifts, and then in comes Life With Dogs telling people it’s a great idea. Way to be careless.
