In the United States, Americans spent Thanksgiving Day indulging in delicious foods like mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing and pumpkin pie. Most people usually watch TV (football) while under a food coma, others get ready to start the shopping frenzy with Black Friday’s deals, but this year you can do something meaningful and powerful, like helping homeless dogs find forever homes. You don’t even have to leave the comfort of your home.

Help homeless animals.

On Nov. 27, 2014, you can tune your TV to “Fox’s Cause for Paws: An All-Star Dog Spectacular” at 8 p.m. central time. Hilary Swank and Jane Lynch will co-host the show where different dog stories, viral videos, musical tributes, a fundraiser, contests and much more will be shown.

Thirty five lucky homeless dogs from area shelter will be featured and hopefully they’ll find a forever home before the end of Black Friday.

Celebrities such as Betty White, Miranda Lambert, Josh Duhamel, Kristen Bell, Scarlett Johansson, Kesha, Fergie and LeAnn Rimes will make appearances to show their support.

If all 35 dogs are lucky enough to find adopters during the show’s two hour time, viewers will be encouraged to visit Petfinder.com and search for shelter dogs in their local areas that are in need of homes. Viewers who already have pets but would still like to help other animals in need will have the opportunity to make donations during the show. All donations will benefit participating shelters.

Don’t forget to watch “Fox’s Cause for Paws: An All-Star Dog Spectacular” this November 27.
