Police in Fairfield, Calif., are looking for a woman caught on video abusing a pug named Ben. The video, recorded on Dec. 19, 2015 and released on Facebook by David Shields, shows 31-year-old Brandi Chin carrying the dog by one of his legs and the tossing him onto the street.
According to Fox 8 News Chin got into a heated argument with her boyfriend – Ben’s other owner – and abused the dog right in front of her boyfriend and in a public place. The video shows how the female abuser appears on camera carrying the pug by one of his legs and then violently throwing him onto the street.
Ben cries in pain, rolls and tosses on the pavement a few times, before coming to a complete stop. Chin’s boyfriend picks up the dog and walks towards the abuser. They exchange a few words and then both disappear from the camera’s view.
Police say this is not the first time the female criminal has been caught abusing the pug. She was previously seen carrying Ben by his tail down business district in Fairfield. In the dog’s best interest, authorities are looking for the female abuser, they want to press animal cruelty charges against her and remove the dog from the abusive and volatile environment he lives in.
“We are currently looking for her at this time,” said Michael Ramirez, of Solano County Humane Animal Services. “She is from what I understand hiding from us.”
Local authorities are asking the public to help them find the woman and save Ben from a worse fate at the hands of his abuser. Anyone with information can call police at 707-428-7300.
