  1. Yup, My dogs recognize the words food, potty and my daughters name. When you mention any of those words they let you know.. they know lol.

  2. When I ask my dog Chloe: Where’s Nila ? (my other dog) She goes looking for her. When Nila is in my lap and I need my space, all I have to do is say: “You want me to brush you?” Off she goes.
Both actually understand a number of oft repeated sentences and respond to them.

  3. My Westie knows, Mommy, Daddy, Goodie, Bye-Bye’s, any sentence started with “Do you want..” will cause the head turns, he knows it’s goodie time when Neil Cavuto comes on the TV, he knows the sound of either of our cars coming down the road, he knows when the neighbors boyfriends truck parks across the street as he growls and barks (doesn’t like him for some reason), He has a routine where he has to have a Tickle Me Elmo doll turned on right after supper every night and he will bark at you to turn it on (this is something he started on his own, we didn’t teach this), if he has a cling on left over after going to the pottie he will not come in the house but if he does he will sit on the ceramic tile floor and not move. I can go on and on. He is the smartest dog I have ever owned and I have had quite a few.
