There is nothing I can add to improve upon this. It’s beautiful, poignant, crafted with love, and I’m guessing that many of you will feel compelled to watch it more than once.
Oh, now see what you’ve done. Blog Mom is all leaky and she’s gotta get ready for work. She tells me all the time that I could never know how much I mean to them. Well, they all tell me that in one way or another. There are things that happened that made them all very sad before I came to live there. They say that having me live with them made a huge difference and they’ve and was just what they needed. Needless to say, having been in a shelter when they found me, they were just what I needed too. I’m a truly impawtent part of the family and they know I’m always there for them and will be as long as I can.
WOW thank you for this video…..And the person(s) who says it is ‘just a dog/cat’ has lived a very lonely, uninformed life. They have never experienced unconditional love nor do they know how to give it and probably never will. The word commitment for life is not in their vocabulary. They have never looked into the eyes of a pet to see the pet’s total adoration for its owner. I want to say this to them but I just smile and keep my secret to myself. They don’t deserve to know my secret or all the things our 3 family pets have taught us over the last 30+ years.
Madi and Mom
Beautiful and oh so true! My heart goes out to anyone who at least doesn’t appreciate the relationship between a dog and a human. Even if they don’t have a dog to share that bond, they should at least appreciate those of us that are lucky enough to understand.
Woof! Woof! LOVE it! My mom had tears. remember I did a post … NOT JUST A DOG … I’m not a big fan when someone says that I’m Just A Dog. Will visit the creator of the video. Golden Thanks. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Simply beautiful and it made me cry. As a proud Mom of 4 (3 golden retrievers and one Bernese Mountain dog), they have the best I can give everyday. Thank you for this
Great video, well put together. A dog has never been “just a dog” in my life….I have always had a dog and they have helped me with a lot of problems, they have never let me down…been there to lick my tears…put a smile on my face when I have been down…..and been great companions, I still miss my dogs that are no longer with me (especially my first one that was called Pirate)
He chews my shoes, pillows, books and knickers.
She pees on the floor when I’m out!
But when I look at them and think about what they do for me I stand a mile high look at the sky and thank God I’m alive!!!
Glorious video! Beautifully composed. Very heart touching and heart warming. My dogs are the reason I get up every single day. There is no measure to the ways in which they touch and add to my life. Every dog I’ve ever been owned by, or helped in some way, actually, gave me more than I gave them. Thank you very much for sharing what we dog lovers know, but some humans don’t understand and are missing.
Exquisite sentiment…I just surfed in, and discovered your site….You are one of those people, who realize the deep soul connection we have with animals….who is singing that great song?
I couldn’t love it any more than I do!!!!! We lost our boy Cosmo over a year ago and this says everything I ever felt about my boy that was “just a dog” I am goign to have to share this on my blog this week.
On June 11th I posted Its Just A Dog to my FACEBOOK profile. I had no idea within 24 hours I would hear those words spoken to me by an Officer from the city of Asheville, J.S. Dillingham #2565. Read below:
I can’t believe what I just experienced. Jimmy Choo and I are in Asheville, NC for a MBF Dog Show this weekend. Even though Asheville is in the mountains, the high was 87 today and 90% humidity. Needless to say it was a miserably hot day and not a good one for dogs. After checking into the Red Roof Inn West Asheville I took Jimmy Choo for a walk and heard a dog barking in a van. The windows were open about three inches so I thought the barking was coming from another car. As we were returning, I heard the barking again from the van. After looking in I saw a dog in a crate in the back of the van. I went in to the office and told the staff who could have cared less. Fortunately a Great Dane breeder was staying at the Red Roof Inn, along with their handler and they assisted me. The hotel was full of dog show attendees, handlers and breeders and we asked all if they knew who owned the van. Finally we called animal control and when the animal control Officer McTaggart arrived he promptly checked the temperature in the car and it registered at 93 degrees. We then reached in and found the owners name and what a shock. The owner of the van was Nathanial Horn a Judge and this was his dog!!!! So for two hours we tried to get the animal control Officer McTaggart as well as Asheville’s Master policeman Dillingham to at least OPEN the windows. They would not and Officer Dillingham when ask if it was a child would he open the windows he said “it’s only a dog”. The judge, Nathanial Horn showed up at 8:30 and was issued a warning. I hope you boycott Judge Horn’s ring in the future, he is a judge of sporting dogs. The dog that was in the 93 degree van for 3 hours is CH EASTERN WATERS CHESMATES SOTERS JH. Owner: Nathaniel Horn & Peter Schultz., Columbia, MD 21046. Breeder: Diana Downey. Do we want judges of dogs with behavior such as this!
I sure am glad you took the time to report it to the police…even though they themselves didn’t do much…at least you did….I lived up that way for many years…being from NY…those people their, police, locals, are of a whole new breed….they’d leave their child in the car too…i’ve seen it done….p.s. The owner should never be a judge for a dog show….agreed
I had read this and now you have given me the opportunity to see it enhanced through music and images. Thank you, thank you. I have never in my life spent time with just a dog – I have no idea what just a dog is or could be but I have spent time with friends on four paws and loved each and every minute of the experience.
I have been one of those lucky people who had a dog from the beginning of my life. My Grandpa gave me a Boston Terrier when I was a year old! I had him until I was 11 and he was hit by a car and killed. I lost my little brother!!! After that there have been a succession of wonderful dogs, never Just a Dog, though, always a very special dog. When I was late 60s, my Scottie Otis was gone at 16 years and I was going to “get along” without a dog. Well, I just couldn’t do it. I went to a shelter and found my beautiful Stella who had been there for 3 months. She might turn out to be my last dog, but then again, she might not. I am so lucky to have found her! She is goodness itself. I hope those Just a Dog people somehow learn along the way, the lesson that we dog lovers know from early on. Life is not as good without a dog! The dog is God’s noble gift to all of us.
What a great video! Anyone who says just a dog has no clue! My husband and I are owned by and amazing Rottie named Butch. He is the bestest boy ever! Butch is so loving, gives hugs and you know what he is thinking by his expressions…if you are happy he is so excited, if you have a rough day he is there to give you comfort, if you are frusterated, he lays by your side quitely, just being there for you. My husband was deployed to Iraq last year…it has been a very long 9 months thus far…without Butch I would be lost. He has licked tears off my face, helped me get through rough spots by giving me hugs and letting me cry on his soft coat, acting really silly to make me laugh and just being there. Butch is not “just a dog” he is a part of our family, without him our family would not be whole.
I know, I know, I know, for many that show it is only about their ego and showing, winning, the top you know they must rock and others love their dogs and it is as it should be, spending time with the dogs they love, fun, smiling whether they win or not, taking excellent care, like their children. it is a puzzlement to me, I know and why?
Melly
That was a greyt video. I rescue greyhounds and have 3 of my own. I love every minute with my dogs. They love me no matter what mood i’m in or how tired i am. They are not just dogs they are part of my family and loving companions. They are always right there waiting for love and always have plenty of kisses for me. When they look into my eyes they tell me how much they love me for giving them a life of love and affection. Thank you for the video
Some people just don’t get it, I guess. Unfortunately for them, they’ve never had a dog or known how incredibly loving and loyal we are and what joy we bring to peoples’ lives. Thanks for the video. My mom loved it.
Beautiful video. Those who call them “just a dog/cat” have never fully understood the love and compassion that animals can bring to your lives. Thank you for reminding all of us fur parents how much we truly love our fur children.
I could not get through life without “just a dog”. My husband and I rescue as many seniors as we can. We currently have 9 seniors in our home, 8 Goldens and a Cairn Terrier and two younger dogs. Heartache is part of our lives because they are never with us long enough but if we can give them just a short time being loved then it is all worth it. One of our younger dogs (8 years old)was just diagnosed with malignant melanoma and we know his time is short but we will love him and care for him until he crosses over the Rainbow Bridge.
Just looked at the video. Very heart warming and a special thanks to you for making it. If you don’t own a dog get one! They are very special friends and will make your world a lot HAPPIER!
I have never understood those who say “just a dog”. My dogs and 2 cats have brought me so much joy over the years. They give me love without wanting anything in return, make me smile even after they have made a mess of the newspaper, they have licked my tears away laid beside me when I have been hurting and are always so happy to see me walk through the door. I truly feel for those people who do not understand why they are family not “just a dog/cat”. There is nothing better to cheer you up than a wet nose and big paw touching you to let you know no matter what they dont care what you drive or how much you make. For whatever reason they still love you. I hope someday each of these people that think “just a dog” get the chance to experience the unconditional love the wonderful animals can bring to their lives. Makes me very sad to know what they are missing and makes me more grateful for what I have waiting with wagging tails big paws and shredded papers greeting me at the end of my day…..
I loved it too!! Every dog that has been in my family since I was three years old has been a treasure of life to me and I know my life has been and continues to be enhanced by the mere presence of my precious “replacement children”. I feel sorry for those who never have or appreciate the experience of being loved by a dog!
Hey everyone thanks very much for the nice words. To be honest this was exactly what I was hoping for when I put this together. Dog owners sharing it with each other and reflecting on what our dogs mean to us.
I was also shocked that no one had put together anything like this before to those amazing words apparently written by Richard Biby “Just a Dog” was apparently first printed in NAVHDA Magazine in the Feb 2006 issue. (North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association).
My dog means so much to my wife and I, as do all the dogs in my life. We are fortunate to have a place in Halifax that allows us to share some amazing landscapes and scenery with our dogs and this is where all these pictures were taken.
Beautiful! I have an American Toy Fox Terrier of 14 years old this October. He is strong and very active. I love him dearly and he is the bestest best friend and trustworthy. I thank you in the name of God for wonderful animals!
That was absolutely beautiful. All the dogs were amazing and heartwarming. My Betsy is now a 1 year old mini schnauzer and she is my first dog. Before getting her I used to think “just a dog” but I know better now, it didn´t take long!
I will share it with others, good job!
I had to part with my Bearded Collie last October. After 15 years. Time ran out on Cara…
She had no home, until I found her-more like she found me.
I have been struggling, I miss not having a dog, but I miss my girl more.
This helped me.
I have to go and find another dog that needs a loving home.
Thank you.
I thank you….
I know what it’s like to loose someone you love! I’m sorry for your loss. I lost my Sambo in ’05 and at times it still hurts like hell! He was 20 but he didn’t know it almost to the end. It took me quite a while but I finally ended up getting two same litter brothers – Bear & Freckles. Today we were out playing in the wadding pool! I’d say good luck finding you a new fur-kid but there are so many that need love & a home it shouldn’t take long.
Take care Brian!!
Had a dog as a kid. Adult life, no pets,…I’m one of those,”Just a Dog” people, or should I say “was”..very nicely done. This old hard nosed, just a dog guy, became the sniffling, old softy. Thanks for the link Jim Royle…your a great friend!
This video is one of the most beautiful I ever saw! Even the non-lovers should see it, maybe they will “awake” at better senses? (I doubt it, but they should give it a try!!!!!) Thank you for sharing this wonderful video!
Does any one know what the title of song and who is the artist? Loved the video and the the music was awesome!!! Very appropiate because “dogs are angels of the soul”.
Vickie,
It was by a singer-songwriter named Lissie. If you go on the youtube site and search “just a dog” the video will come up and there’s info on her. She has an album out and I just bought “Everywhere You Go” because it is such a powerful and beautiful song. Hope that helps you out.
FABULOUS!
How true it is not just a dog, but only other dog lovers would understand.
“Dogs are our link to paradise. They don’t know evil or
jealousy or discontent. To sit with a dog on a hillside on a
glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing
was not boring — it was peace.”
Milan Kundera
What a Great Video! I could never live without a dog. Please don’t allow the Animal Rights Radicals make them extinct. What would this world be like without our dogs?
yes, a dog, the best friend in the world, without her, my day is not complete. i had a chocolate lab that was near me all the time. whereever i was in the yard, she was there. lost her a year ago. had to put her down. hardest thing to haveto do.i have her here in my back yard under the pines. i have another dog since, a black lab mix. but she will never replace coco. she is a good dog and i will love her as much. the music is really touching. even those people that dont own a dog, dont know what they are missing. i thank you for this e-mail. god blessyou..
I got my dog Zoe as a boxer puppy after me and my S.O. called it quits. I wanted a dog for protection and got a “watch dog” (per the police). She is now 4 and serves cocktails and welcomes everyone with open arms that comes to my house. Some watch dog! She is totally a lover dog. I can’t imagine life without Zoe. She reads me like a book – looks at me with those big brown eyes and gives me kisses when she knows I’m blue. In the winter, I take her everywhere I go in the car. She loves to ride. However, she doesn’t understand why I can’t take her with me in the summer. I miss her too on my rides. Everyone in my complex knows Zoe – they all stop by in the morning and evening on their walks to say hello and pet her. Zoe is not “just a dog” – she is my family, my best friend, and we protect one another.
WE HAD A DOG NAMED ROBBIE, BOARDER COLLIE, HE WAS THE BEST DOG IN THE WORLD , HE DID GET OLD AND WE HAD TO PUT HIM DOWN, AND HE JUST LOOKED UP AT ME , LIKE HE KNEW EVERYTHING, WAS GOING TO BE OK…
LOVED this—-there really ARE no bad dogs—they come into our lives and make them better in every way….my childhood dogs lived past 18—my first dog as an adult got sick before his 10th b’day and we had to put him down—my heart shattered as I held him and he took his last breath…our 6 year old lab Leo is a total nut but a total love too—dogs add so much to our day to day and ask for so little in return….guess that’s why God chose to name them DOG—GOD backwards—such love—such devotion can only come from a true source of love
This is a great video.
I once heard a man say he wanted to be the person his dog thought he was. I have been blessed to have had 3 beloved friends, who were always there for me, devoted to me, and loved me unconditionally. Some people don’t realize that the dogs in our lives bring out the best in us. They give us a reason to rise every morning, to excersize, and to smile. And all the love and devotion they show is an example to us on how we should live. God bless my dogs.
The post was touching BUT rather long and the music was not of my liking. I did not cry. I turned down my speakers (muted) and wondered, why all the fluff? Send 5-bucks to the local shelter and, if they need to be, offer to have your neighbor’s cat and/or dog sterilized that will make more of a difference… I promise.
Not everyone has the same taste in music or video … but, if this didn’t somehow get to you and you couldn’t relate … you are missing something in your relationship with animals. Your suggestion at the end of your note is still a good one, but so is sharing this video.
Grew up with dogs in my family… loved them since the first german shepard we got when i was five at Christmas. They change your life and i think about them often. Since then i have not had one in my own family but intend to. Have three kids that deserve that experience and by all means who am i to not give them an experience that lasts a lifetime. Hope to find a English Springer for them sooner than later.
HAVE HAD A DOG IN MY LIFE SINCE I WAS A TODDLER, AND NOW I’M 64. THEY ARE SUCH TRUE FRIENDS, ALWAYS MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER IF YOU’RE DOWN. COULDN’T ASK FOR MORE LOYALTY OR SWEETNESS. LOVE THEIR SWEET, LOVING EYES AND HOW FUNNY THEY CAN BE AT TIMES WHEN YOU NEED A LIFT.
RIGHT NOW MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE THREE DOGS BETWEEN US. HE HAS A GERMAN SHEPHERD NAMED SHEENA AND I HAVE TWO DACHSHOUNDS WHO ARE LITTER-MATE SISTERS, GINGER AND CHLOE. THEY ALL LIKE TO SNUGGLE IN BED WITH US.
That is so true. You just don’t know until one touches your heart and when you have to let them go…it is as tough as loosing a family member. I lost my mini doxie (1st one) after only two years and it broke my heart. They become your closest friend and companion. They are there when you leave and come home. They are always happy to see you when most others could care less. God bless all our 4 legged friends.
Right now I have 59 rescued babies at my home (mini shelter) and I love them all. I rescue, rehab and re-home, but while they’re with me, they are my precious children and I wouldn’t live any other way. They have taught me humanity and love for this earth. They’ve also softened my communication with the people around me and are wonderful, loving friends.
Some one just the other day commented on one of my Dogs being skinny. I told him that the dog had surgery for cancer that will probably take his life. I told this person about the 7,000.00 expense, and he said. Its just a dog. I was so mad, but this video explains it. Some people just dont have a clue.
Dear Steve, Just remember all the thousands of people who GET IT. We lost our Golden Girl to mast cell cancer just this past August. Josie was our soulmate and it tore us up to loose her. We have not added up our costs to try and save her, like you, alot. I would have gladly given up everything I owned to have her with me right now. Bless you for caring for your dog the way you do. Donna
I’m 70 years old and think I can say from experience that one must grow up with dogs to understand the bond that develops. We have always had at least one dog in the house and always will. People who say “just a dog” are missing out on the best feeling one can have when loving, and being loved, by a dog. Besides, all mine thought they were litte furry four-legged people. To be honest, that’s what I thought too.
Tears, smiles, and “this is what it means to have NOT just a dog”. A true friend who loves you with all his heart. Being there for you no matter what. Now, that’s not “just a dog”. Can you say that about any person you know.. Thought so!!!!
WIth the anniversary of my life-partner’s passing approaching on the 22nd, this is what I needed to refocus my energy again…thank you so much for this – I count my blessings daily for the “paw-people” in my life…well done- a beautiful piece
This is absolutely beautiful and oh so true. I was lucky enough to grow up with parents who knew how important animals were to people. I lost my only son six years ago, and my Shitzu kept me alive and on this earth to this day. I got lucky and adopted him when he was 3, one year after Seth went to heaven. I couldn’t take coming home to an empty house, and thanks to Bear, I don’t. They are truly amazing companions who love you unconditionally. My mom has 11 rescues living with her right now and they are also keeping her young! Thanks for sharing such a wonderful song & video – everyone should know this love!
I cried all the way thru thinking of all the “just a dogs” that have passed thru my life and people don’t understand how i felt! This is the most beautiful thing!!!
Thank God for all the Just a dogs in our lives.
Mary, I understand exactley how you felt. I am feeling it right now. I lost my Golden Girl, josie this past august and not a day goes by that I don’t have a gut-renching cry. I Miss Her Spirit so much. She was my soulmate! I love dogs more than people, sad but true.
I adopted my Greyhound “Reach” at a horse show in Lexington, Kentucky. He weighed about 45 lbs, he was all cut up, with gashes in his chest and neck, his back legs were bald and he couldn’t stop shaking. Out of 12 dogs that were up for adoption he was the last one, no one wanted him. He looked at me and then looked away – he seemed to have given up hope. The man said he would probably be put down – there was a chance he might be a biter because he had been so abused. I said I would take him. I gave up my airline ticket and rode back to Minnesota in the truck so Reach wouldn’t be alone. He was supposed to live in the barn but was sleeping next to my bed within a week. It took about 3 months before he would wag his tail – I will never forget it. He rarely left my side. He loved his “baby”, a stuffed rabbit that he slept with. He was handsome, elegant, noble, respectful, joyfull, funny, gentle, affectionate – but not a licker – he was my best friend. He passed away in my arms 6 years ago. I loved that dog more than any I had ever had. He was a blessing unlike anything I had ever known…I miss him….
I really need to know what the name of the song is in the “Just a Dog?” video. Ever since I first heard it I am haunted by the medley and words. The singer/writers have captured my feelings since I lost my Golden Girl in August of this year. Her name is Josie and she died two months after we first learned she had mast cell cancer. Thank You also for the wonderful website. I could be on for hours!
This video gave me a much needed lift. I spent all of yesterday being very depressed because I was blogging about a Newfie in Des Moines, WA that escaped from its yard and was shot 4 times by the police while it was hiding in some bushes. Thank you for posting it.
this was so beautiful i have 2 golden retreivers i love them so much they are more to me then just a dog . they know when im down when im sick / there beside me all the time
*sniff* Lovely photos and a lovely sentiment. I would write more, but my four-legged companion demands a butt scratch and I am powerless to deny her. Thank you for this.
Beautiful video and beautiful song. I’ve always been blessed knowing that a dog is so much more than “Just a Dog” but my family wasn’t. Then years later my mother got her own dog. Things sure changed! Then my sister, who owned a dog at the time, made my mother get rid of hers. “Too much trouble for her, etc” And then my sister’s dog died. She thought it wouldn’t be a big deal. It was. Too bad she didn’t realize when he was alive how much he affected her life but now she has a puppy cause she couldn’t stand the “quiet” anymore. So in her 40′s and learning the hard way, she had now apologized to my mother and is loving her puppy. She has learned its more than “just a dog.” I think the world would be a better place is all of us did.
Thanks for sharing!
Though no dogs in our life at this moment, I can surely say I’m glad for each one that did share its life with us and I look forward to the time when we will again be paw-rents. Thanks for sharing this beautiful video!
Very touching and very beautiful. Thank you for posting it. I definitely reflected on my life with dogs and how I would not be the person I am without them.
When people ask my mommy why she spends so much money on me and the other three juvenile delinquents we share our home with, she smiles because inside she knows they don’t understand that what she gets in return from us dogs cannot be purchased with money.
There was a time in late 2009 where I contemplated suicide. I had been laid off from a job I loved and then had to sell my house to avoid foreclouser.
All my belongings & items my parents had went on sale at an estate sale.
Felt like the world was crumbling around me. If it wasn’t for my two Jack Russells I don’t know what I would have done. They’re not “just dogs”!
They’re my angels!! They brought me out of a deep depression. I can’t imagine being on this earth without a dog.

Thank you for the beautiful video!
Beautiful and oh so true! My heart goes out to anyone who at least doesn’t appreciate the relationship between a dog and a human. Even if they don’t have a dog to share that bond, they should at least appreciate those of us that are lucky enough to understand.
A great video for a Friday. Go have fun with you dog this weekend!
Great start to our Friday

we can’t blog yet but wanted to stop by to thank you for your support over grandpa’s passing.
chikisses
Very beautiful – it was fun to see so many pups that make us think of ones we know. NEVER “just a dog” here at our home.
Woos – Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
*sigh* and *sniff.* That was worth the tears.
Woof! Woof! LOVE it! My mom had tears. remember I did a post … NOT JUST A DOG … I’m not a big fan when someone says that I’m Just A Dog. Will visit the creator of the video. Golden Thanks. Lots of Golden Woofs, Sugar
Oh my goodness, just beautiful – loved it.

Hurrah!!!
indeed, they are never “just a dog”. this is a great video…i watched it a few times in a row.
Simply beautiful and it made me cry. As a proud Mom of 4 (3 golden retrievers and one Bernese Mountain dog), they have the best I can give everyday. Thank you for this
Great video!
I’ve always really disliked the “it’s just a dog” mentality. My dogs are my family, which is I’m sure as most here feel about their furry friends.
Once again you have made us smile and cry at the same time.
Once again, great video and well thought out

Twinkie
Thanks for the video. Just awesome
My sweet girl makes me smile in some way every day. I can’t really understand “it’s just a dog”. She is joy, pure joy.
He chews my shoes, pillows, books and knickers.
She pees on the floor when I’m out!
But when I look at them and think about what they do for me I stand a mile high look at the sky and thank God I’m alive!!!
What a beautiful video! Great words, wonderful photos, just perfect. Thanks for sharing.
I love this video, it brought tears of understanding……
Exquisite sentiment…I just surfed in, and discovered your site….You are one of those people, who realize the deep soul connection we have with animals….who is singing that great song?
We saw the link to this on Khyra’s blog and came by. Super video…thanks for sharing.

I couldn’t love it any more than I do!!!!! We lost our boy Cosmo over a year ago and this says everything I ever felt about my boy that was “just a dog” I am goign to have to share this on my blog this week.
What a wonderful video. I am now crying but it was worth it! I just love my dogs to pieces

Cheers,
Jo
Oh, yes, watched it more than once. It brought tears to my eyes more than once. And sharing it now!

That was a greyt video. I rescue greyhounds and have 3 of my own. I love every minute with my dogs. They love me no matter what mood i’m in or how tired i am. They are not just dogs they are part of my family and loving companions. They are always right there waiting for love and always have plenty of kisses for me. When they look into my eyes they tell me how much they love me for giving them a life of love and affection. Thank you for the video
Beautiful Video. I would love to know the name of the song
Everywhere I go. See video above in comments thread.
Just a dog, just a loyal friend, just all accepting, just plain ole simple love.. how can you not understand that… love the video.

Great video
Thanks again
Trent and Dexter
Beautiful. I cried, I laughed. I love all 5 of my dogs. They are my best friends.
BEAUTIFUL and VERY TOUCHING-crying and laughing at the whole celebration of our furry innocent friends-who remind us everyday to live in the MOMENT!
Beautiful! I have an American Toy Fox Terrier of 14 years old this October. He is strong and very active. I love him dearly and he is the bestest best friend and trustworthy. I thank you in the name of God for wonderful animals!
Very touching and very true. My wife passed away in Feb 2010 so now it’s “JUST” her dog and myself. He’s helped me through these troubled times.
Beautiful! I loved this and will revisit it often. My dog is my companion and I love having him be a part of my life.
That was absolutely beautiful. All the dogs were amazing and heartwarming. My Betsy is now a 1 year old mini schnauzer and she is my first dog. Before getting her I used to think “just a dog” but I know better now, it didn´t take long!
I will share it with others, good job!
Beautfiul….
Honestly, the best way to heal is by having another furry friend to pet. It makes it so much easier. I speak from much experience.
I have a bearded collie for adoption…she is wonderful.
contact me if you are interested
Had a dog as a kid. Adult life, no pets,…I’m one of those,”Just a Dog” people, or should I say “was”..very nicely done. This old hard nosed, just a dog guy, became the sniffling, old softy. Thanks for the link Jim Royle…your a great friend!
This video is one of the most beautiful I ever saw! Even the non-lovers should see it, maybe they will “awake” at better senses? (I doubt it, but they should give it a try!!!!!) Thank you for sharing this wonderful video!
There is no such thing as just a dog (how about the dog is just my best friend)!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Does any one know what the title of song and who is the artist? Loved the video and the the music was awesome!!! Very appropiate because “dogs are angels of the soul”.
I don’t know! Did you find out from anyone else? I would also love to know because what a beautiful song it is!
Vickie,
It was by a singer-songwriter named Lissie. If you go on the youtube site and search “just a dog” the video will come up and there’s info on her. She has an album out and I just bought “Everywhere You Go” because it is such a powerful and beautiful song. Hope that helps you out.
Guess that is why we have 12 dogs.
What are you doing on this site? It was beautiful.
WHY WAIT? LOOK AT THE EXPERIENCES YOUR KIDS ARE MISSING ALREADY BY NOT HAVING A DOG. LIFE IS SHORT. FIND YOUR KIDS A DOG NOW!!!!!
KAY
THANK GOD FOR MAKING SUCH CREATURES FOR US.
KAY
Perfect…..Thank You
MUY BONITO, SUPER SUSAN. ILOVE DOG, I LOVE ANIMALS, I LOVE GOOD PEOPLE LIKE YOU. DONT CHANGE.. CHUKS NEED YOU
That is so true.
Lovely. Even though it made me teary. There’s just nothing like a dog.
Beautiful, and declares the simple truth…not even a stray is just a dog.

I agree….”sniff”. Very beautiful!!
XOXO
Thanks for sharing this beautiful video!
i can’t watch the video on youtube, is there any way i can watch this?
Very touching and very beautiful. Thank you for posting it. I definitely reflected on my life with dogs and how I would not be the person I am without them.
When people ask my mommy why she spends so much money on me and the other three juvenile delinquents we share our home with, she smiles because inside she knows they don’t understand that what she gets in return from us dogs cannot be purchased with money.
Wonderful post!
The more people I meet, the more I like my dogs:)
Thanks for the lovely images and feelings to trentboswick from another dog lover and rescuer.
Watch this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H17edn_RZoY
I like it it’s really sweet.
I love this video, but should come with a three tissue warning. Many thanks to the wonderful animal lover(s) who put this together.
