The concerned man enlisted the help of another dealership worker and they headed to the store to buy dog treats and a water bowl. They offered the dog some water and food but the pet did not budge from his hiding spot.

Fearing that if animal control was called the fait of the dog would be very uncertain, Valero turned to social media to find the unusual four-legged customer some help. A person involved with animal rescue, shared Valero’s post with No Paws Left Behind and that’s how the organization arrived at the dealership to help the dog.

With the help of cheeseburgers the dog was lured from underneath the car and was transported to a veterinarian. After medical examination, rescuers learned the dog – now dubbed Aden, was hit by a car.

“He was very dehydrated and has a shattered hip and pelvis,” Christina Barletta, founder of No Paws Left Behind told The Sun-Sentinel. “His hip was swollen and four to five times the size of his leg. It was horrible.”

Aden has no microchip and no one has come forward to claim him. For now he is comfortably resting in a foster home where his pain is managed with medication. The rescue group plans to nurse Aden back to health and then make him available for adoption, but the dog needs surgery. The organization is collecting funds to help cover the cost of the surgery.
