A feel-good event draws thousands to the streets of St. Louis, MO Sunday to celebrate pets and the people who love them.

An estimated 8,000 dogs and 80,000 pet lovers attended the 18th annual Beggin’ Pet Parade in Soulard, with dogs and humans dressed in Mardi Gras attire. The event is held to offer area pet owners a day of camaraderie while raising money for a great cause: funds raised are donated to the Open Door Animal Sanctuary, a no-kill shelter dedicated to finding homes for homeless cats and dogs.

  1. Awesome idea!!! This should be done in every part of the country on at least an annual basis. Great to see such enthusiasm with both the people and their canine partners!!
