Former European and Commonwealth champion and dog lover Iwan Thomas is launching a new campaign to help increase the number of Greyhound dogs re-homed in 2011. The Retired Greyhound Trust is working alongside the Greyhound UK Buses to ensure that unwanted Greyhounds find new homes and loving owners.

Iwan, the latest celebrity to pledge support for the Retired Greyhound Trust, following fashion icon Twiggy said: “I’m a huge dog lover. Greyhounds are wonderful dogs so it’s great to see a company of the stature of Greyhound get behind such a worthy charity. I would urge anyone who is considering a dog to think greyhounds – I certainly hope to adopt one in the next few months.”

  1. You know what I love best about this video? All the wagging tails. I just love that! What a great campaign and I hope they have great success. We must and need to do that here in the states. I agree with Greytjoy.

  2. Eastern New Mexico University adopted two retired greyhounds as their mascots, Vick and Tory as they are the greyhounds. The greys live on campus sharing an apartment with their “room mates” , makes appearance at school events. :-} and are currently studying the art of sleeping.
