Nina has had a tough start in life. The young, sweet pit bull mix escaped from her yard only to be hit by a car and suffer severe damage to one of her legs. Her owners brought her immediately to Angell Animal Medical Center for treatment. However, upon learning the extent of her injuries they decided they did not have the resources to care for her and so she was surrendered to the MSPCA-Angell in Jamaica Plain, Mass.
Homeless and injured, she underwent surgery to have the damaged rear leg amputated by the excellent veterinary team at the Shalit-Glazer Clinic. Shalit-Gazer is the in house clinic that looks after all of the animals at the MSPCA-Angell. Nina is young and strong and bounced back well from her traumatic experiences according to Animal Care Supervisor Kelly Keiley. Now she is ready to go home, to a forever home where she will be safe and well looked after as she so deserves.
“What happened to Nina is both extremely said and totally preventable and we’re going to do all we can to find the perfect home for her,” said Keiley. “Even though she only has three legs she is full of life, very sweet and would make an excellent companion for someone who wants to invest the time in helping her regain her confidence.”
