Bianca, a pregnant Rottweiler-lab mix, was left inside her cage without food and water for over a week in a Cleveland, Ohio home after her owners moved out. Her companion, a chocolate Labrador named Oogie Boogie, was left in another cage next to her.
The two dogs were rescued on Feb. 12, 2014, by Chief Animal Control Officer John Baird and thanks to this rescue the pregnant dog was able to safely give birth to 11 puppies at West Park Animal Hospital.
Unfortunately, five of the puppies were stillborn but the remaining six, four males and two females, are all healthy.
Fido’s Companion Rescue and Ziggy’s Friends will make the puppies available for adoption in a few weeks after they are all spayed and neutered. If anyone is interested in adopting one of the puppies they can call 440-926-1747.
Bianca was rescued by Hartman’s Hounds and Oogie Boogie was rescued by the Cleveland Animal Protective League.
