Camp Bow Wow, North America’s largest and fastest growing pet care franchise, announces the launch of its “Bad to the Bone” contest, a nationwide hunt for the worst behaved dog in North America. Beginning February 1st and continuing through May 18th, Camp Bow Wow will be accepting entries on its corporate Facebook Page from dogs of all breeds and sizes, for the chance to receive a complete behavioral makeover from Camp Bow Wow’s Behavior Buddies certified dog trainers.

Whether the owners are at work, in another room, or even present, some of the cutest pooches can have the worst manners and as such, Camp Bow Wow is seeking to fix badly behaved dogs across the country and turn them into “perfect pups.” From chewing your shoes and eating the mail, to bathroom “mishaps” on the white rug, no crime is too big or small.

Upon concluding the call for submissions on May 18th, Camp Bow Wow will determine its 51 “Bad Dog” finalists from the pool of entrants and will subsequently announce the Grand Prize Winner by May 31, 2012. The Grand Prize winner will receive a full year of services at either a Camp Bow Wow or Home Buddies of his/her choice and will receive training from a Bow Wow Behavior Buddies certified trainer, to fix the pup’s naughty behavior.

The remaining 50 Finalists will be entered into the next phase of the contest known as the “Face Off.” Camp Bow Wow will conduct “Face Offs” between two different dogs each week, allowing Facebook users to vote on the more menacing pup. The winner of each “Face Off” will receive a gift certificate for Camp Bow Wow or Home Buddies services. The “Face Offs will begin on June 4th and end on August 31, 2012.

“While dogs can be man’s best friend, they can also wreak havoc without proper training,” notes Heidi Ganahl, CEO of Camp Bow Wow. “It is important to properly train your dog, as continuous mishaps and accidents can result in a lifetime of frustration and is the leading cause of pups being brought to shelters. We are excited to launch our ‘Bad to the Bone’ contest to help train precarious pooches across the country, ensuring loving and long-lasting dog-owner relationships.”

Submissions to the “Bad to the Bone” contest can be made via Facebook by uploading an incriminating picture or video, along with a story explaining the dog’s bad behavior. Throughout the competition, Bow Wow Behavior Buddies certified trainers will be posting training tips and tactics on Facebook and Twitter, via the hashtag #BadToTheBone, in an effort to help entrants implement new, positive, behavioral skills at their own homes.
