Country Singer Miranda Lambert is known for being an animal lover.  Earlier this week she came to the rescue of a dog left abandoned on the highway in Oklahoma.

On Tuesday Miranda tweeted a photo of a puppy she found left on a highway. He was in the middle of the hwy with his food bowl and bed,” tweeted Lambert. “If it wasn’t an accident, someone is really sick.”

Miranda already has a full house full of dogs, some that go on the road with her when she tours. The new addition will stay with Lambert until she can find him a good home. For now she has named the puppy “Pistol Andy” in honor of the country girl group she is a member of that just announced a release date for their new record.

If anyone has any information on the owners of Pistol Andy Lambert has asked they contact the Tishomingo Animal Shelter in Oklahoma. For more information on the shelter visit their petfinder page.
