Remember Eddie, the eyeless, stray, Chihuahua mix dog from Schaumburg, Ill., we told you about? (Read “Stray, Blind Dog in Search of a New Life.“) Well, he has found the forever family he always wanted.

On June 20, 2013, One Tail at a Time (OTAT), the organization that saved Eddie from a life on the streets, was having an adoption event at the local pet store when his forever parents, Jennifer Ross and James Richards, walked in.

“They actually were just going to the pet supply store to pick up food for their cat and we were having an adoption event there,” said Anna Friedman, rescue manager for OTAT. “They weren’t specifically looking for a second dog but it was (excuse the pun) love at first sight!”

Eddie is so lucky to have an older dog sibling, Cooper, who will show him the ropes of the house and guide him around whenever needed. Eddie also has a cool cat sibling to lounge around the house.

This is a happy ending for sweet little Eddie!
