Ginger was frightened and sad when her owner brought her to the shelter saying he couldn’t care for her any longer and wanted her put down.

Shelter volunteer and rescuer Maria Christina Sanchez was on hand to document the heartbreaking scene and to make sure that Ginger would get a second chance at life and happiness.

Maria Christina Sanchez is going to pull Ginger from the shelter on Tuesday, and will provide her with the loving care she needs and deserves during a rehabilitative period. Once Ginger is spayed and Maria and PetConnect.Us are confident she is mentally and physically ready, they will adopt her out into a carefully screened home.

Maria works as a tireless voluunteer helping and saving dogs in San Bernardino County, CA. She posts videos of dogs at the San Bernardino City Shelter at her YouTube channel.

The video below shows what it is like for a dog to be dumped by her uncaring owner.

Ginger’s rescuers will share photos and video of Ginger as she begins her new life. We have no doubt she will soon be remarkably transformed.  You can check with PetConnect.Us at Facebook in the coming days and weeks for updates. Those interested in giving Ginger the loving home she deserves can contact PetConnect.US via PM or email (email address is found at Facebook).

  1. Disgusting man, and to have had a child with him. So heartless and so undeserving to have had such an obviously submissive and sweet baby like that.

    • Yeah really, a child, so what lesson did that child just learn. That it’s ok to just dump living loving animals like trash!!!! a vicious cycle could happen!

    • At least he cared enough to bring her to the shelter, he could of taken her somewhere and just dumped her, or like idiots where I live just take unwanted dogs and put a bullet in their heads. So she will get a good home because he did bring her there, end of story!

      • He brought her to the shelter to be KILLED. There is absolutely nothing redeeming about this P.O.S. “owner.”

      • If you remember and if you read the story, he immediately asked that she be put to sleep. Don’t defend this uncaring and irresponsible dog owner!

      • Obviously you didn’t read the article very well! It said he took the dog to the shelter to be put ASLEEP. Nothing good about what he did, end of story.

  2. At least he brought her in and didn’t just dump her on some back road. This way she has a chance to find a loving home.

  5. San Bernardino is a HIGH KILL shelter. Most dogs don’t make it out of there. They have an 80% euthanasia rate. So dumping a family pet there is not exactly better than dumping a dog on a back road really. They have 3 days tops before they start euthanising them. There are many puppies killed because the intake volume of dogs and cats are so high they cannot possibly all be adopted or housed indefinitely. The fact this jerk brought a child to witness this is pathetic. Not to mention he WANTED THE DOG KILLED. This dog was very lucky to be pulled by a caring volunteer. This was a happy ending for this dog. Too many others won’t be so lucky.

    • You are absolutely right on target! And especially the part about bringing his son or grandchild with him to watch as he “dumped” their dog. So uncaring and what an irresponsible jerk. He does not deserve to own another animal.

  6. This is so sad. Hopefully Ginger will find a good home and lots of love. Hopefully God will take care of the heartless owner. If I were the child, I would be worried I would be next.
