Happy Sunday, Life With Dogs readers.  The weekend may be almost over, but the party is still going on here at LWD, in our Adoptable Dog of the Day department.  Today’s dog is Ice, and she comes to us from our friends at the Hempstead Town Animal Shelter in New York.  Her former human would rather surrender this beautiful beauty rather than simply bring her indoors from the cold.  So now the hunt is on for a forever home for her.

Let’s let the Hempstead Town Animal Shelter introduce Ice:

Ice came to us as an owner surrender in February 2015.  Yet another dog who lived her life chained to a tree, day and night.  Due to the extreme cold last winter, the owner surrendered her to us, as opposed to bringing her inside.

As per her previous owner she LIVED WITH TWO CATS (we’ve since re-cat tested her numerous times and she was not so good with the felines)!  Ice, although she is warm, and being fed, and loved, and walked by volunteers and staff, is not happy to be here.  We don’t think she’d prefer to live tied to a tree, but we think she knows she is homeless, and she is pretty sad about that.

At just 3 years old and 50 lbs, she has a lot of life left to offer someone.  Ice was sent to an offsite trainer for some added training, and we are THRILLED to report, Ice LOVES DOGS!!!!!  Please oh please, if you think Ice would be a fit for your family, please come in to meet her today!  We are hoping she doesn’t have to wait long until she finds her way into a loving, warm and cozy forever home.  A home that will cherish her for the angel that she is.
