Jade was rescued by the Sadie Mae Foundation of Bolton, CT, who, in their own words, “are a small group of individuals, dedicated to rescuing animals from local shelters when they have run out of time and are in danger of euthanasia”

Jade was burned on one side and had suffered a puncture to one eye that required its removal.  She had a very rough start in life but, with her second chance, has come to know happiness and loving care.

The touching video below shows Jade’s wonderful transformation now that she has a new lease on life.

Jade’s foster caregiver writes: “I simply cannot say enough good things about this girl. Even after all she’s been through she shines like a diamond! After suffering through a chronic cornea puncture wound and having her eye removed, being a young mother (who knows how many times), and being burned on her side, she is happy and forgiving and just a LOVE!

“Where do I even start…well, for one, she is sooo snuggly! She sleeps in my bed at night and does not hesitate to plop herself right next to me, her head right beside mine on the pillow. Waking up to this face every morning is lovely ♥

“Aside from how affectionate she is, she is a joy to play with! Jade is always up for whatever you are. She loves hikes, walks around the neighborhood, playing with the hose, fetch (especially with her tennis ball, squeaky football, & Orbee Tuff ball) and playing with other dogs. She enjoys just about everything.

“Jade is also well behaved, crate-trained, and house trained. She will whine or go to the door when she has to go out.”

Jade is available for adoption and has a listing at Petfinder. The rescue group prefers to adopt relatively locally, within Connecticut.

The Sadie Mae Foundation has a Jade For adoption photo album at Facebook with many pics of Jade enjoying life in her foster home.
