gumboNew Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton is supporting K9s For Warriors and recently donated a service dog named Gumbo to the non-profit.

K9s For Warriors provides service dogs for veterans with brain injuries and post-traumatic stress disorder. Animal Activist Wendy Diamond is leading the “Bark Business Tour” to raise awareness and funds for the non-profit.

On Friday October 11th the tour made a stop in New Orleans and Coach Payton was on hand to help raise money and make a special donation of his own. Coach Payton and his Pay It Forward Foundation will be sponsoring Gumbo, who will be trained as a service dog and paired with a Louisiana veteran

“Every once in a while, we get to come across something like this – to make a contribution,” Payton said. “I love being around these dogs…The dog we are sponsoring to be trained to be a service dog is named Gumbo. We look forward to presenting this dog to a Louisiana warrior…We are honored to be a part of this today.”
