A dog that was stolen during a New Year’s eve day carjacking is still missing in Bessemer, AL.  Tyler Duncan was picking up his own dog, a golden retriever, from the Hope Animal Clinic yesterday.  He had his brother’s dog Abby in his truck and left her only for a few moments, but when he came back, both the vehicle and the dog were gone.

The truck, a silver F150 pick up was later found, but there was no sign of Abby.  A distraught Duncan and his family are desperately searching for the 9 year old chocolate lab in the area and are asking for help to find her.  The truck had been turned off but the keys were left inside and unfortunately out of range of any security cameras so the thief was not caught on tape.

Duncan was looking after Abby for his brother while he was out of town and so this has turned what is normally a festive day into a devastating experience for their family. She was not wearing her collar at the time and is not microchipped but is very sweet and approachable and weighs about 50 pounds.  All the Duncan family wants is for Abby to be returned safe and sound.

Anyone who sees Abby or who has information in the case is asked to call the Hope Animal Clinic at 205-426-2828.
