Five years ago Jeanie found her forever home when she was adopted, now the three-legged dog is hoping to help other shelter dogs find homes too. Jeanie has been selected as the national spokespet for the Petco Foundation’s “Spring a Pet” fundraiser.

Jeanie like many rescued shelter dogs demonstrates to others how great adopting a pet can be. Rescued at six months old she had to have her leg amputated. Since being adopted she has become a certified therapy dog and has been charming people with her wonderful personality.

Every spring the Petco Foundation holds its “Spring a Pet” fundraiser to help rescue groups and shelters address pet overpopulation and other issues. The money raised by the store is given back to shelters and rescues in the community which they are raised. The fundraiser takes place from March 2nd to March 23rd and donations can be made at your nearest Petco store.
