caps2Professional Hockey players from the Washington Capitals teamed up with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue for a special photo shoot to create a calendar featuring the players and some of the shelter’s dogs.

On Tuesday ten shelter dogs from Homeward Trails spent the afternoon with some of the stars from the Washington Capitals to create their 2014 Canine Calendar. The calendar will benefit Homeward Trails. The photo shoot had a “photo-booth” theme as the players and shelter dogs are seen using props for their humorous photos.

The afternoon was fun for both players and pups as everyone got along well.

“The players were amazing with our dogs and put them at ease, so the photos turned out adorably,” said Sue Bell, Executive Director and Founder of Homeward Trails. We really are so grateful to the organization for giving us this great opportunity! We can’t wait to see the final products, which will make great holiday gifts and will be available starting December 3.

More photos from the shoot can be seen here.
