The couple is not keeping Stanley, but hope to find her a good home. She is being featured as Bick’s Pit of the Month for July.
“For years, pit bulls have been the victims of not only abusers who force them to fight, but of an incredibly misinformed public perception,” said Heather Dowdy.
Dumped in a city park, a starved female pit bull is recovering in the care of the York County SPCA, and authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying those responsible for her abuse.
Spitfire’s natural gifts may make him fast, but its his love of the activity that’s the true motivator.
“A lot of people call him a dog,” says Army Spc. Alec Alcoser of his dog and partner, Alex, “but I think he’s a little more than that. He’s a soldier.”
Fewer fertile dogs means fewer unwanted or stray dogs that could wind up in the shelter, say the program’s proponents.

While these Arizona adoptables are waiting for their forever homes, shelter staff, and an enterprising dog trainer, are seeing they get the exercise they need.
