Animal welfare officers are horrified at the actions of an unknown person who threw a sack of newborn puppies into an estuary at Welcome Bay, the latest in a string of animal abuse incidents in Tauranga, NZ.

Undercover video shot earlier this year by non-profit animal welfare organization Grey2k has sparked new controversy regarding conditions at Tucson Greyhound Park. In the video, trainers show people who they believe are visitors through the kennels.

A two year old Samoyed mix watched Jennifer Kenney pause at his kennel in the Maricopa animal shelter before she turned to move on to another, less adoptable dog. Just before Kenney was out of eyesight, however, Rudy looked at her and stood up…and in doing so found his savior.
