A male pit bull mix dog called Lejon, has shocked owners and zoo staff by becoming a stepfather to a highly endangered white lion cub called Jojo.

Dogtopia, a nationwide doggy day care, spa, boarding and boutique business, held a nationwide “dog wash,” to raise money for service dogs, including military, police, therapy, and assistance dogs.

Camp Bow Wow, of Lacey, held its first annual luau to raise funds and awareness, and to help find homes for the countless homeless dogs.

Local rescue organizations came together in a show of unity, to be a part of the very worthy cause. Participants included Blind Dog Rescue Alliance, South Jersey Boxer Rescue, SOS Beagle Rescue, Friends of Southern Ocean County Animal Shelter and A Tail to Tell Puppy Mill Rescue.

Bailey, and Sean, a US Sailor, were together just for a few months before Sean was posted to Afghanistan. After a seven-month tour, Sean returned home and was shocked and delighted to be greeted by his furry friend in such an enthusiastic way!
