Sometimes what is true for humans is also true for dogs. In the case of music that soothes, dogs definitely respond better to classical music than heavy metal according to a study at Colorado State University. Professor Lori Kogan studied kennelled dogs response to music for 4 months and what she found was quite amazing.

Sparky, the 7 year old fox terrier was up to his usual antics, playing happily with other dogs while out on a walk. That’s when he came upon the the puff adder, a venomous snake species found in Africa and the southern Arabian Peninsula.
It is a big victory for animals everywhere, as a Quebec man was sentenced to 6 months in jail for stabbing his two dogs. Geoffrey LaBerge pleaded guilty to 5 counts of animal cruelty related to the incident which took place in August 2011.
He was on death’s doorstep last January, one week away from being euthanized due to having been labeled an “aggressive dog” by the Missouri German Shepherd Rescue. His name was Koda, and he was believed to be unfit to be in public. Then Monroe City Search and Rescue stepped in and rescued the 3 year old, and nothing has been the same since.
